Railcar Dimentions Availible: 1.25” Flooring, 5/8” Lumber, and 3/4” Cladding
FIVE-QUARTER LUMBER
What do we mean by “Five-Quarter Lumber“? Our railcar selection is made up mostly of the industry standard size of railcar flooring—1.25 inches thick and 12 inches wide.
T&G FLOORING
This selection of railcar flooring that we have has the same measurements of our Five-Quarter, but it’s never seen a mile in a railcar. This lumber was manufactured to make it onto the railcar but never did, leaving us with beautiful, hole-less lumber.
CLADDING
not sure what cladding is.
WHAT’S THE HISTORY?
Add some real history to your home with our reclaimed railcar lumber! Every month, our partner, Million Mile Oak reclaims over 10,000 sq/f of railroad wood and 20 tons of metal beams. MMO separates the precious oak from metal floor supports by removing 1000’s of screws and reclaims it in Hammond, Indiana. The end result is high quality reclaimed wood that will last generations. Our selection of railcar flooring is American-grown and has travelled over over 1 million miles.
SO, WHAT CAN WE DO WITH IT?
There are multiple stains, oils, and finishes we can add to the wood depending on the look and feel you want to go for. Depending on the job, we will suggest a certain finish that we think will look or work best with your selection, but the creativity and vision is up to you—we’re happy to make your ideas come to life!
